Pondering, wondering, thoughts, and questions-questions. I thought it would be nice to just, make a thread where you could say something -anything- and ask why.
Right. To start off... What, in your opinion, is the meaning of life?
I've thought about this and I've come up with: The meaning of life is to experience through perception. In other words, to do everything you can possibly muster with the world from your perspective. Bingo.
((Yeah, yeah... weird topic. But I love this kind of cosmically deep stuff. Old hobby of mine. And anyway, as writers we should already be thinking like this, right? Just a proposition.))

I would've said 42, personally.
Seriously...I would say it's to learn life's lessons one step at a time and try not to get muddled in it all.

I'm sort of a fan of reincarnation in the sense that you keep coming back until you've learned all you've had to and you get it. What that 'it' is, I'm not sure, haven't come back enough times. Sort of a win win situation though, since you never really lose anybody forever. You just might not recognize them at first.

That's brilliant! Incredible-- really, I hadn't thought of that. Makes me think of the that whole "take the moment" expression you see on motvational posters, which I never really liked. How are we supposed to approach life with constant raptness and attention to every detail, before it's gone? Your outlook --almost the opposite-- is much easier on the conscience. But have you ever thought about what comes after you get IT?
Oh- and I like your new sigg. Very Christmasy, which is always great.

You return to the universe. You're part of everything again, so you're never totally gone ever. That's perhaps the most optimistic thing I believe in.
And I never would have thought of Denis Leary as being Christmassy. Except for The Ref, I guess, but not otherwise.

Lol. I should really watch the movie all the way through. But... *looks again* ...yeah, if that doesn't just scream tinsle and misteltoe, I don't know what will. Then again, it might just be ye ol imagination. Who knows?
(I just had another warped question, but it's long gone now. Whoops. )

Must be the sparkles. I like sparkles. Sparkles are just so delightful.

Sparkles are great. I especially love those nifty fireworks come July...
More philosophy spiel: I just watched this really great movie called Waking Life. I've been raving about it for days now. Really good TV. Anyway, the entire thing is one great big realistic cartoon, like somebody's imagination on-screen. Pretty cool looking. So the movie deals with this kind of stuff in incredible depth. Total enlightenment. I think everybody should watch it.

Let's see... Ethan Hawke was the only famous face I could pick out, but he was on-screen for only about five minutes. In other news, it came on IFC TV, if you can get that channel... but I just checked their website's schedule and got zippo showtimes for the next 30 days. Shame. I guess that means renting from your local store, eh? It's worth it 100%, though, if you're into this kind of thing. It definitely fits in this category as the most philosophical movie I've ever watched.
